Tell the truth, my brother/sister, when was the last time a phone made you stop and take a second look? For me, that happened with the Honor V Purse. I saw a photo online and thought it was a small handbag with a chain. But it’s not a bag. It’s a foldable phone designed for those who care about style as much as they do about speed.
The Honor V Purse is Honor’s slim foldable phone of today that folds outward and comes with hooks for a fashion strap. In this guide, I’ll talk about its design, features, specifications, and its expected price in the US and India. After that, we’ll raise the big question: is buying the Honor V Purse as a foldable phone really worth it, or is it just a waste of money?

What Is the Honor V Purse and Why Is Everyone Talking About It?
Honor V Purse is not a normal foldable. Most foldables, like the Galaxy Z Fold, fold inward so the screen stays safe inside. The Honor V Purse does the opposite. Its big screen wraps around the outside when closed. That one choice changes how the phone looks and feels.
Honor launched the phone in China in September 2023. It was one of the thinnest foldables at that time. Honor also pushed it as a fashion product, not only a tech product. Therefore, this phone got attention from both tech fans and style lovers.
Now let’s talk about the Honor V Purse foldable phone from a normal buyer’s view. Do you really need a foldable that looks like a purse? Maybe not. However, if you love gadgets that stand out, this one is hard to ignore.
Honor V Purse Design: Is It a Phone or a Fashion Accessory?
Outward Folding Style
The Honor V Purse design is the main reason people notice it. Folded, it is only about 8.6mm thick. Open, it becomes a 7.71-inch tablet-style screen that is just 4.3mm thin. That is very slim, and it weighs around 214 grams.
In my experience, outward folding phones like the Honor V Purse feel more natural for quick tasks. You open it, use it, and close it. You do not need to unfold it just to check a message. But there is a catch. The screen is exposed, so it can scratch and collect dust more easily. I would always use a case.
Hooks, Chains and Colors
The Honor V Purse has a special case with a hook on each end. You can attach a chain or strap and carry the phone like a mini bag. Honor offers it in Black, Blue, and Gold. The gold one looks the most fashion-friendly to me.
A friend of mine once said, “Phones are boring now; they all look the same.” Honestly, I agree. This phone is the opposite of boring. If you think as I do, a phone should show a bit of your personality too. Some people may call it too flashy. That is fair. Still, style is personal, and a phone is something you hold all day.
Honor V Purse Features You Will Actually Use
Display and Hinge
The Honor V Purse features a 7.71-inch screen with 2016 x 2348 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On paper, that means smooth scrolling and sharp videos. Honor also says the hinge can handle about 400,000 folds. That sounds strong, but real-life use will decide it.
Camera Setup
At the back, this phone has a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. There is also an 8MP selfie camera. Still, with a mid-range chip, I would call the camera good, not great.
Performance and Speed
The Snapdragon 778G 5G is a mid-range chip. It is fine for social media, YouTube, calls, and light games. However, heavy gamers will want something stronger. It is about looks first, power second.
Battery and Software
It comes with a 4500mAh battery and 35W wired charging. Honor claims up to 8.7 hours of video playback. For a thin foldable, that is fair. It runs Android 13 with Honor’s MagicOS on top, so the software feels familiar.

Honor V Purse Pros and Cons: The Good and the Not-So-Good
Let me be honest with you. This phone has some clear wins and some clear problems.
What is good:
- Very thin and light body for a foldable
- Unique design with strap hooks
- Large 7.71-inch smooth screen
- Easy to use for quick tasks
What is not good:
- Mid-range Snapdragon 778G chip at a high price
- The outside screen can get damaged more easily.
- Camera is only average for the price.
- Not officially sold in USA or India
- Battery is just 4500mAh
If something is good, I say it is good. It is a stylish idea with solid hardware. But the price is high for a Snapdragon 778G phone. Would you really pay flagship money for mid-range power?
Honor V Purse Expected Price in USA and India
In China, the Honor V Purse price started at CNY 5,999 for the 16GB and 256GB model. The 512GB version cost CNY 6,599. That is around $823 and $905 at launch time.
For the USA, some sites list the expected Honor V Purse price near $756. For India, listings show about Rs. 68,000. However, these are expected prices only. As far as I can tell, Honor has not sold this phone officially in either country, so you may need to import it. Importing can mean extra tax and weak warranty support.
Since this phone came out in 2023, prices and stock may be different today. Please check trusted sellers before you pay anything. Quick tip: if you buy one, get a strong case and a screen protector on day one.
Who Should Buy the Honor V Purse and Who Should Skip It?
Buy it if:
- You love unique and stylish gadgets.
- You want a thin foldable that fits in a pocket.
- You enjoy a big screen for videos and reading.
Skip it if:
- You need strong gaming power.
- You want official support in the USA or India.
- You are on a tight budget.
This phone suits people who buy with their eyes first. Be honest with yourself about which group you are in.
Is Honor V Purse Worth Buying as a Foldable Phone?
Now comes the big question. Is Honor V Purse worth buying as a foldable phone? In my view, it depends on what you want.
If you love style and want a phone that gets compliments, the Honor V Purse is a fun choice. If you want the best camera, the best chip, and easy buying with a warranty, then another foldable will make more sense.
Here is a real-life comparison. Buying this phone is like buying a designer jacket. It looks great, and people notice it. But a normal jacket may keep you just as warm for less money.
It is also three years old now, so newer models may give you more power for the same money. I once handed my brother a thin foldable to try. He loved how it felt in the pocket but worried about the outside screen all day. That is exactly my worry with this phone too.
Final Thoughts on Honor V Purse
The Honor V Purse is a bold idea. It proves that a foldable phone can be fashionable first and still be useful. The design is the star, the screen is big, and the body is quite thin. However, the chip is mid-range, the camera is average, and it doesn’t seem easy to buy it outside China. If you can live with that, it’s a very special phone. Take a little of your precious time to think about it before buying.
What do you think? Would you carry the Honor V Purse like a purse, or would you prefer a regular phone? Share your thoughts in the comments.
